Minimal. Eclectic. Inspiration.

I started this blog back in 2010. Over the past 15 years, its niche shifted from topics like food, fashion, faith, and fitness, among others. Recently, I realized that my blog should be as eclectic as I am. Instead of trying to draw a box around one particular niche, I am re-launching my blog focused on all of my interests.

Welcome to my life – I’m Eclectic Jenn.

I grew up in North Carolina. Although I love to travel, I live only a half mile from my childhood home. I purchased a fixer-upper farmhouse in 2018 where I’m slowly growing my hobby farm. In college, I studied studio art and design. I was fortunate to learn and grow in a variety of mediums. After earning my Bachelor of Fine Arts, I worked in the creative field for over 10 years. I eventually made a career shift into the medical world. I obtained my Master of Health Administration and now work full-time as a healthcare executive for a local nonprofit serious illness agency. In 2024, I earned my PhD in Leadership. I believe that authenticity, creativity, and resiliency are my superpowers.

My ideas, style, and taste are from a broad and diverse range of sources, which is the verbatim definition of eclectic.

My goal is to create a simple life. I have a small hobby farm the helps me to escape the hustle and grind of life in the 21st century. I focus on thrifting, sustainability, and trying to be as chemical-free as possible. Recycling, reusing, and repurposing is a passion of mine. I grow fruits and vegetables, I raise chickens for farm-fresh eggs, and I breed goats. When I need a change of scenery, I enjoy camping at the coast.

This website is a space where I share that simple life with you. I love to create! You may find a simple recipe for a delicious salad here, photos of my latest do-it-yourself design, updates on my latest research, ideas about my next original work of art, or items that I have for sale.

And in the midst of it all, there’s minimal. eclectic. inspiration.
